I love orange!

On my cousin Jackie's blog, she asked what was my favorite orange item...

Halloween is my favorite holiday and it has loads of orange!

Orange sunsets are especially pretty.

Orange Crush is awesome, especially with vanilla ice cream...

Autumn is my favorite time of the year, and orange maples are my favorite.

Best things about SUMMER:

*) hot dogs over the fire
*) flower gardens
*) honeybees (unless they are stinging the hubby)
*) rides on the Harley
*) bats (do you realize how many moisquitoes they vanquish?)
*) the smell of suntan lotion
*) amusement parks
*) drive in theaters
*) 3 legal holidays (not including flag day!)
*) porch swings
*) thunderstorms
*) corn on the cob
*) small town fairs and festivals
*) fireworks
*) the smell of rain on the hot pavement

Summer Breeze...makes me feel whine

The most annoying things about SUMMER.
*) mosquitoes
*) humidity
*) wasps and yellow jackets
*) allergies
*) the smell of roadkill
*) ants at picnics
*) leather car seats
*) road construction
*) brush fires
*) school's out
*) tornadoes
*) hurricanes
*) temps above 85 degrees F
*) air conditioning (most of the time too cold!)
*) TV re-runs

Winter in PA

Here's my cousin Sydney in all her winter glory. I don't know what her friend's name is, but he sure is cute.





Unfortunately, I have to think her friend isn't still visiting...
It got into the mid-40's with rain yesterday.

Thinking of nice weather.....

With nice weather comes our usual trip to Hatteras Island on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. If you know me at all, you'll know I yearn for the ocean - seafood, sand between my toes, walks on the shoreline, and of course, lighthouses.
